Considered the peak of the Romanian seaside tourism during the past years, Neptun-Olimp seems this year to be losing its place in favour of Mamaia resort, mostly due to the failed attempts of privatization, to fights for the seizure of accommodation spaces and to the lack of steady investments in its lodging facilities. However, in spite of all its problems, Neptun-Olimp will remain this year one of the most attractive holiday destinations for those with high incomes, as it is well known that the prices in this resort are among the highest on the Romanian seaside. Its strong point is the beach “La Steaguri”, which is the best kept beach on the seaside. We should also mention the night clubs and discos which, in spide of the astounding prices, are always overcrowded. There are various possibilities of practicing nautical sports either at sea, or on Lake Neptun. For those who wish to sunbathe in Neptun-Olimp but cannot afford the spicy prices, sleeping in camping sites or lodging in cottages with reasonable prices could represent a solution to their problem. Tourists can also accomodate in Mangalia, in dwellings belonging to locals, and the 7km distance between Mangalia and Neptun can be very easily covered by minibuses circulating every 5 minutes or by niniwaggons.
